Mini Post

I chose Geena Davis as an artist who exemplifies the feminist movement and who has also made many movies that pass the Bechdel Test. One of her films that is a great example of this is "A League of Their Own." This movie is about the women's professional Baseball league that took shape during WWII as a substitute for Major League Baseball. Geena Davis plays Dottie Henson, the catcher and best player on the team. She is the lead role, and plays a strong willed woman who can do anything that men can (sometimes better.) This movie is a great example of how women helped to keep the country afloat while most men were away at war. It shows women in a light that few films do and is mostly based around them, easily passing the Bechdel Test. Geena Davis is a champion of the feminist movement and advocate for women in film. As you can see by this video, she continues to be a spokesperson and face for women worldwide.
